Privacy
Health information is sensitive. We collect as little as we can, keep personal data separate from the medical evidence, never use it to train AI models, and let you download or delete it.
What you can do without an account
Medicine pages, conditions and comparisons are open to everyone and don’t store anything about you. Asking questions and saving medicines need a free account.
What we store
- Your account: name, email, and a one-way hash of your password (never the password itself).
- Saved medicines: the list you choose to keep, stored separately from your login details.
- Questions and answers: each question, the evidence used and the answer given are kept for up to a year so qualified reviewers can check answers for safety and accuracy. They are not used for advertising or analytics.
- Reports you upload: the text is encrypted before it is stored, and kept apart from what we extract from it. You confirm the extracted medicines and conditions before they’re saved.
When an AI provider is involved
To write an answer, your question, your last few messages in that conversation, and the matching label passages are sent to OpenAI’s API. Under OpenAI’s API terms, that data isn’t used to train their models. Please don’t include your name, date of birth or other identifying details in a question. Uploaded reports are not sent to any AI provider; they are read on our own server.
Security
- Everything is sent over encrypted connections.
- Uploaded report text is encrypted in the database with a key kept outside it.
- Sign-in needs a verified email; repeated attempts are rate-limited.
- Raw health text is never written to general application logs.
Your choices
- Download your data as a file at any time from your account page.
- Delete your account from your account page: this removes your login, saved medicines, uploaded reports and your questions and answers.
- We don’t sell your information, and we never use it to train AI models.
